My
newsletter is how I introduce new images and I've created several new
ones that I'd like to share from California, Ohio, Russia and
Croatia. I try not to put many words in my newsletters because
after all, if a picture is worth a thousand words then why do I need
words?
~
Here's
a funny story from my trip to Russia: We had just come out of the
Hermitage Museum when two men approached us, warning us of Gypsies
ahead who would pickpocket us.
They
were walking with us, shaking our hands and getting very close. One
minute later I noticed that my lens was missing from my camera, they
had pickpocketed it! Fortunately I was able to purchase a
new lens in St. Petersburg and we now have this experience to recount
and laugh about. Watch out for the Gypsies!
~
I
had a wonderful time in Russia and Croatia. The opening in
Split went very well; my work on Auschwitz-Birkenau was well received
and I made many new friends. I think I'll be returning to Croatia in
the future.

Ceiling Lamps
Ceiling Lamp, Moscow Subway No.

The Moscow subway is
pretty spectacular. It's deep underground, extremely crowded
and very efficient. But what really caught my eye was the
Soviet style Communist art that decorates many of the stations. One
thing that my eye focused on was their ceiling lamps and I have added
these three new images to my collection.

This is a whimsical series
that I enjoy doing. It's not art, it's not going to win any awards
and it won't be published, but it's fun and I like creating these
images.

Workshop!
Dunes of Nude No. 57
I'm happy to announce
that John Barclay and Dan Sniffin have invited me to join them on
their February 2014 Tour/Workshop to three of California's premier
desert locations.
We will be focusing on
the Mesquite dunes in Death Valley, Trona Pinnacles and the Alabama
Hills. These are three visually spectacular locations!
For more information and
to sign up, please visit:

Not
only are these wonderful locations, but John and Dan know how to have
fun while teaching. I have had quite a number of their past attendees
write to tell me what a great time they had while attending their
workshops.
What
I'm hoping to add to this event is my somewhat unique view on Vision
and Simplicity in post-processing. I'll be giving two presentations
and working with the attendees to "see uniquely" in the
field. I'm looking forward to this intimate setting and the
opportunity to share my philosophies on everything from equipment to
portfolio reviews!
